Thorpe Park Rides
Thorpe Park Ride Guide

Thorpe Park is one of the UK's most popular theme parks and boasts some of the best rides around. Thorpe Park breaks are the best way to enjoy Thorpe Park especially if you are traveling far with young children. We can offer you a Thorpe Park ticket and hotel deal that includes accommodation in a hotel near Thorpe Park and tickets for family entrance to the theme park.

Colossus:
Colossus is a record breaking roller coaster that will turn you upside down ten times! When Colossus opened in 2002 it was the first roller coaster in the world to feature ten inversions, beating the previous record of eight, set by the Dragon Khan at Port Aventura, which opened in 1995. There is now another roller coaster that has the same amount of inversions, called the Tenth Ring Roller Coaster. However, this is an exact replica of Colossus, whilst you'd have to travel over 5900 miles to Guangzhou, China, to reach it - you're probably best off heading to Thorpe Park! Back on Colossus you'll hurtle around the track at speeds 45 mph, and go through huge loops and quick twirls, until you reach the climax of a quadruple corkscrew. If you can walk in a straight line immediately afterwards then you'll be doing well!

Stealth
Are you ready to be sent at speeds of 0-128 km/h in less than two seconds, over a hill of over 200 feet? Get ready for Stealth - Thorpe Park's number one ride. Once aboard one of Stealth's trains you'll be strapped in and then face a nervous wait until the super charged launch. The green light will come on and it's Go! Go! GO! Firing you through an incredible acceleration that makes it more than a little difficult to pose for your ride photo. After speeding passed the first section of track you'll travel almost vertically upwards, up to the third highest peak for any roller coaster in Europe. There's a moments clarity as the train just makes it over the high hat - and you'll certainly get an amazing view of the park and surrounding area. Then you'll shoot vertically downwards at an amazing speed, returning to the station in just 8 seconds. Stealth might be short, but it's seriously intense!

Nemesis Inferno
Nemesis Inferno is an inverted rollercoaster that speeds around and through a firing volcano - will you stand the heat? You'll be hung from the track on inverted carriages with no floor, before dropping through a misty volcano. After this you'll go through the lift hill, which will take you up close to one hundred feet. Once at the top, gravity takes control, sending you on a large swooping drop and into a vertical loop. this is immediately followed by a zero-G roll and, soon after, interlocking corkscrews. You'll hit speeds of almost 48 mph, whilst encountering powerful forces of 4.5G on the final helix. Nemesis Inferno is also the only inverted rollercoaster in the world to feature a set of interlocking corkscrews.

X: No Way Out
X: No Way Out is sure to put you through psychological punishment - a shuddering, pitch black nightmare slap bang in the middle of Thorpe Park's Lost City. Housed in an attention grabbing terracotta pyramid, X: No Way Out opened in 1996, as the world's very first backwards roller coaster in the dark. Complete darkness envelops you as you set off on this out-of-Thorpe Park Theme Park Breakscontrol ride - and there's no getting off until the end. Strange sounds and random flashes of light accompany you on your journey, completely disorientating your senses as you are thrown about in the void of X: No Way Out.

Flying Fish
Fly like a fish on this classic rollercoaster for the whole family - it's just returned for the 2007 season. Flying Fish is back by popular demand to Thorpe Park, after having a short break in 2005. It is excellent fun for the whole family - a good first roller coaster for the youngsters, or an easy going classic for the adults amongst you. Be sure to visit this classic at Thorpe Park. You'll find it located just next to Tidal Wave.

Detonator
Keep an empty stomach for Detonator - you're going to need it! Detonator will raise you up on high, so high in fact that you will get a jaw dropping view of the rest of Thopre Park. At 100 ft above ground level, you are held static for a moment before plunging straight back down again. G Forces of 5.5, a speed of 75 Km/h and 100 ft of free falling madness present themselves to anyone brave enough to ride Detonator. Hold on to your stomachs, this is a thrill ride that will really test your nerves.

Quantum
Quantum is a magic carpet ride that will throw you round and round, making you encounter some incredible negative G-Forces. As you board Quantum, you may be fooled into thinking you have got any easy ride. In fact, this magic carpet style ride will relentlessly swing and sway you about until you can't handle any more. Quantum is located in Thorpe Park's Lost City. Be sure to visit the hidden treasure when you visit the theme park.

Rush:
Rush is the third biggest playground swing in the world. Don't let this idea fool you though - this swing uses hydraulics rather than the friendly pushes of loved ones! Rush is a truly terrifying confrontation with powerful forces. A huge swing with back to back seats is waiting to propel you up into the sky before bringing you back down again with forces reaching a staggering 4Gs! You'll be swung at speeds of over 50 mph, reaching heights of 75 feet, swinging both forwards and backwards - just make sure you have a strong stomach!
